For IT professionals

A recruiter that stays
close after
you start.

Most recruiters place you and move on. Their fee is paid. Their job is done. We work differently — because our model only works if yours does.

The standard bureau vs. Mixus

What you actually
deserve from a recruiter

Standard bureau
Proposes you to roles without really understanding them
Mixus
Only proposes you after a real conversation about fit — culture, manager, growth
Standard bureau
Disappears the moment you sign the contract
Mixus
Checks in at month 1, 3, 6, and 12 — because your success is how we measure ours
Standard bureau
Treats you as a CV to be matched to a spec
Mixus
Looks at where you want to be in 3 years, not just what you can do today
Standard bureau
Pushes you to accept fast — their clock is running
Mixus
Tells you if a role isn't right — even if that costs us the placement
Why this matters more than you think

The IT job market
has a retention problem.

Recruiters are incentivised to place you fast, not place you well. The data shows what that costs — not just companies, but the people who end up in the wrong role.

31%
Leave within 6 months
Nearly one in three IT hires leaves within 6 months of starting. Usually it was knowable before they started — and no one asked the right questions.
13.2%
IT has the highest turnover of any sector
According to LinkedIn's Workforce Report, tech professionals change jobs faster than any other industry. That's not ambition — it's a failure of matching.
70%
Of your engagement depends on your manager
Gallup research shows that 70% of how engaged you feel at work is determined by your direct manager. Not the company, not the salary. The manager. We assess them before proposing you.
2–3 yr
Average IT tenure
The average tech professional changes jobs every 2 to 3 years. Often not by choice — by circumstance. A bad fit compounds quickly. A good one compounds differently.
How we work with candidates

Four steps. No disappearing act.

01
A real conversation first
Before we propose you anywhere, we talk. About your experience, yes — but also about what you want next, what kind of manager you work well with, and what you'd leave a job over.
02
Only roles that genuinely fit
We run every opportunity through our Why We Stay framework. If the manager profile doesn't match how you work, or the culture doesn't align with what you need — we don't propose you. Full stop.
03
Transparent throughout
You know where you stand at every step. If a company passes, we tell you why. If we don't think a role is right for you, we say so. No hedging, no generic feedback.
04
Check-ins after you start
Month 1, 3, 6, and 12. We check in to see how you're doing — not to fill a box, but because a placement that isn't working is something we want to know about before it becomes an exit.
What we promise you

Three things most
recruiters never say.

We can't promise you'll get every role. We can promise these three things — and we mean them, because our model breaks if we don't.

If you've had a bad experience with recruiters before — the silence, the generic follow-ups, the sense that you were just a number — we understand why. This is built specifically to be different to that.

We will tell you if a role isn't right for you
Even if that means we don't get the placement. Our fee depends on you staying — so proposing you into a bad fit costs us too. We'd rather wait for the right one.
We will never push you to accept faster than you're comfortable
The urgency tactics some bureaus use — artificial deadlines, pressure to decide before you've thought it through — those aren't in our interest either. A pressured acceptance rarely sticks.
We will follow up after you start
At month 1, 3, 6, and 12. If something's wrong, we want to know. Not to fix the billing — to actually help. That's the model we built, and it only works if we follow through on it.

Don't see your role? Send us your profile — we'll reach out when something genuinely fits.

Road to Freelance

Thinking about going freelance? We've been here before.

Making the step from employment to freelance in IT is one of the most impactful career moves you can make — and one of the most poorly guided ones. At Mixus, we help IT professionals navigate that transition: from positioning and rate-setting to finding the right first mission. If you're seriously considering it, tell us where you are. We'll reach out for a real conversation — no pitch, no pressure.

Tell us about your profile

We review every submission personally and follow up within 3 business days if there's a fit.

We treat your information with discretion. No spam, no unsolicited contact.
